Video produced by Inspire One Productions. Music by Mishel Beebe. Most of us are reluctant to really educate ourselves about what goes on in the meat and dairy industry so we brought the experience to them. The reactions were powerful. Be Daring. Stop eating animals. Go Vegan. Dani
I call it ‘Asian Fusion’ because there’s nothing authentic or original about this dish. It’s just fresh, simple, and delicious and you can vary it so many ways. Ingredients 1 large red onion diced 1-2 Tbs coconut or olive oil 3-4 cloves garlic thinly sliced 10-15 matchsticks of fresh ginger 1 head broccoli into florets 1-2 carrots cut into matchstick 1 yellow pepper cut into strips (for color Read more…
When I went vegan almost five months ago, one of the few things I mourned, for about a minute, was pesto. I thought, without parmesan cheese, I could never have pesto again. Turns out I was wrong. You can veganize anything. About to dive into my homemade pesto. Ingredients 2 large avocados or 3 small ones 2 cloves garlic 1 lemon, juiced 1/2 cup pine raw nuts (I used pre-roasted and it was fine) 2 Read more…
Less than a year ago, if you had told me I’d be starting a blog about what it’s like to be vegan I would have said you were completely out of your mind. No vegan road trip along the California coast is complete without stopping for tacos! Tucked in the Santa Lucia Mountains off the Pacific coast is San Luis Obispo, one of California’s coolest towns. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s right in the middle of Central coast wine country. SLO is not too big, not too small and has a vibrant, diverse, and mellow vibe so we stopped for lunch at an all-vegan cafe situated along Read more…
This is Callum, one of my teachers in life – and, for sure, the cutest. He made this decision on his own even though his parents are not vegetarians. At least they weren’t when this was made. Maybe they are now. 🙂 Watching him reminds me of the innocence in all of us. What can be better than listening to and following your heart? It’s all about living a compassionate life. Be Daring. Go vegan. Read more…
Transitioning to being fully vegan has been a process over a few months. Much like an alcoholic getting sober, there are as many recovery stories as there are sober alcoholics. Meat of any kind, poultry and fish (in that order) was already off the table many months ago, and I just allowed myself to observe how I felt when I did eat something that had dairy in it. Knowing that I was moving toward eliminating Read more…
Now that I’ve got your attention. . . Today is my birthday, a day like most – I am happy, I am fulfilled, I have so many who love and appreciate me – I have everything I need. But it is also another day where factory farm animals, by the millions, are being horrifically tortured and abused in the most cruel of ways. We are not worthy of their gentle and innocent beauty until we Read more…
